The Coaching Team

  • Suneer Chander, MD

Dr. Chander is a highly accomplished Board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician with an impressive 20-year career in various Emergency Departments across suburban, urban, and rural settings in the New England area. During the onset of the COVID pandemic, he faced a challenging situation where 40% of his working hours were no longer required. However, driven by the goal of preserving income and motivated by the potential of telemedicine, Dr. Chander swiftly transitioned into this new realm of healthcare.

It didn't take long for Dr. Chander to recognize the profound impact telemedicine could have on patient care. By meeting patients where they are and enhancing accessibility and affordability, he witnessed firsthand the transformative power of this approach. Always an early adopter, Dr. Chander wholeheartedly embraced telemedicine and now holds licenses in all 50 states plus Washington, D.C. He currently serves as a medical director at Wisp, a leading Women's Health company. He also works for several other platforms and provides clinical care in areas such as lifestyle medicine, HIV PREP, weight loss, urgent care, and workmen's comp.

Dr. Chander takes great pride in his ability to adapt to new challenges and his strong commitment to mentorship. However, what truly fills him with the greatest sense of pride and joy are his loving wife and three wonderful daughters, who keep him grounded and inspired every day. When he's not dedicated to patient care, Dr. Chander also enjoys live music, yoga, and golf in his free time.

  • Takashi Nakamura, MD

Dr. Takashi Nakamura, MD is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician with 12 years of experience practicing. With a particular focus on telehealth, he has made significant contributions in delivering essential medical services to patients, covering a broad range of specialties such as women's and men's health, urgent care, primary care, and more. In addition to his clinical work, he fulfills multiple roles within the digital health space. He serves as a collaborator for advanced practitioners, is both a tech and PC owner, and he is an advisor/consultant to start-ups, where his focus is to drive positive physician-centric change within the industry.

Among his many roles, Dr. Nakamura's proudest career accomplishment is coaching his fellow physicians, many of whom were on the brink of burnout. Just last year, he successfully guided each of his colleagues through the transition from the grind of their brick-and-mortar practices to a thriving career in telemedicine. Dr. Nakamura's profound passion for mentorship has ignited a new mission to assist as many of his counterparts as possible in attaining greater time, geographic, and financial freedom through telemedicine.

With the time and freedom telemedicine has provided, Dr. Nakamura loves to golf with his friends and travel with his family frequently. Being there for his wife and two little children is of utmost importance to him, and he makes a dedicated effort to be as present as humanly possible.

I will be forever grateful to Takashi and Suneer for opening my eyes to so many possibilities in medicine that I never thought existed. For more than 20 years, I have been a hospitalist working as a rounder, admitter, and currently a nocturnist. When my children recently started attending private school, I evaluated my financial potential and felt my only option for increased income was restricted to working more shifts as a hospitalist. However, the more shifts I worked, the less I liked the job that I previously really enjoyed doing. Fortunately, one night while working with Leo, he shared with me his experience with telemedicine and the many benefits that came with it. Two of the benefits that caught my attention were the increased autonomy and greater financial opportunities. I remember being very anxious in starting my journey into the telemedicine world. I was told it was best to be licensed in 51 states and to start my own business. I was terrified! Amazingly, it was during this time that I was introduced to AIR academy. While being a student in the academy, I have learned so much! I learned about the telemedicine industry, starting my own business, specifics about the legal ramifications of practicing as a national provider, and the tax structure involved in starting a new business. Since Takashi and Suneer were in the telemedicine business for a while, their knowledge, insight, guidance and exposure to other pioneers in the field provided a priceless opportunity to learn so much more than I could ever have learned on my own. In addition to having invaluable access to Takashi and Suneer, I became part of a group of other doctors beginning our journey together. Having this group of other doctors was an added benefit to joining the academy. I was able to make connections with other doctors and share the worry, anxiety, doubt, fear, excitement, joy, and triumph of starting something new. I was also able to have the support, guidance and help from my fellow academy members. Having the academy helped me persevere through the times of asking myself if I made the right choice to pursue telemedicine. Being a member of AIR helped to answer that question with a resounding, "Yes, I have definitely made the right choice!". The academy has helped me to secure several desirable employment opportunities that would have been almost impossible to get on my own. The academy has also taught me about other opportunities in telemedicine including physician collaborations, PC ownerships and being an entrepreneur. Overall, the academy has expanded my future outlook on what I can do and I am very grateful for this new insight into the many possibilities that exist. Thank you AIR Academy!!

The AIR Team has been a game changer for me. Having been in Telemedicine for over 10 years, I felt that I was just spinning my wheels and not getting anywhere. The opportunities that I felt could help me progress in the space where not accessible or I could not figure out what it would take to be considered for the position. Since joining AIR Team I have been literally given backstage access to multiple opportunities and the road map to achieving my goals professionally and financially. The Team has been generous and gracious with their time, knowledge and resources. This is the first time I have signed up for a program and felt I got my money's worth and much more. This program will continue to grow and expand because these guys are the real deal!!

This is a program I would highly recommend without an ounce of hesitation to my family and friends any day all day!

I recently left a start up company with a few state licenses under my belt. I had some introduction into working remotely through Telehealth but it wasn’t until I connected with AIR that I realized just how much opportunity was available to me. While helping me expedite my way through acquiring multiple state licenses, they have connected me with multiple companies along the way. I am now capable of supplementing my income through telemedicine. I love to teach and really enjoy working along side bright and eager residents. However the world of academics typically pays sometimes less than half the salary I earn in the community. Now, I don’t have to sacrifice my income, just to work alongside the next generation of doctors. I can work my part time academic shifts and cover my income through Telehealth. AIR has given me the opportunity for a long term solution to working in the medical field without burning out quickly or sacrificing my lifestyle goals.
